Care Assistant Job in Peterborough

We are looking for carers to join our expanding team in Peterborough. The job is based at the client’s house and not in the care home. Availability to work evenings, nights and weekend shifts would be excellent.

Please familiarise yourself with the description of the person we are looking for as well as the responsibilities before applying for the job.

What are we looking for in a good carer?

Working as a domiciliary carer can be a very demanding and difficult job. At the same time is one of the most rewarding! Do you have what it takes to be a good carer?

Below you can find a list of characteristics of an excellent carer. Check it out and if you feel it is your description then feel free to apply for the job!

Empathy – can you understand the individual’s situation and support them in a suitable manner? People who need a carer can often be shy and not want to come across as needy. If you show them you understand, you can make a great carer

Reliable – people who you will care for will often rely on you 100%. Keeping up the schedule, being there on time, showing up and fulfilling your job duties professionally is something we need to see in the carer we hire.

Respect – a lot of our clients are older people, people with physical disabilities and learning difficulties. Everyone deserves respect but especially people you are going to be providing care to.

Observant – we usually care for people whose health isn’t at its best. It is essential you keep a good eye on them and spot even the smallest changes to their appetite, appearance and behaviour as this can help prevent some more problems to develop

Friendly – you simply need to like people! It would be difficult to care for others if you are not approachable. Generally, a happy and positive attitude helps in this kind of work – it will be easier to form relationships with our clients.

Caring – well, it is in the job title! To be a good carer you have to be caring.

If you consider yourself to have all of the above traits then check below for key responsibilities.
